Over the years we
have taken time off from this so called "work" with the
equipment to go boating and fishing. We are close to
the Quabbin reservoir and the Connecticut river, both
offering great fishing & boating facilities. We
have owned and enjoyed many boats over the years and
the boys had a ball almost every weekend. The white
sail boat is a 1927 Elco 31 ft. motor sailer, we had
this boat for 8 years, it was completely restored, a
real beauty. She had a "Gray marine" six cylinder
engine. We kept her at a marina in Old Saybrook Conn.,
a bit of a ride every weekend but the kids were raised
on her. The other sail boat was what is called a "one
of a kind" a custom built boat fashioned after the
Chesapeake bay sloops, we had her for four years after
we sold the "Elco", we had a slip at the Longmeadow
Club on the Conn. river, not too much water for
sailing, but no two hour ride to get to it either.
